MUSHROOM MOMOS RECIPE

Ingredients:

  1. 250 grams button mushrooms, finely chopped
  2. 1 cup finely chopped cabbage
  3. 1/2 cup finely chopped spring onions
  4. 1/4 cup finely chopped carrots
  5. 2 cloves of garlic, minced
  6. 1/2 inch piece of ginger, grated
  7. 1 tablespoon soy sauce
  8. 1 teaspoon sesame oil
  9. 1 teaspoon vegetable oil
  10. Salt to taste
  11. 1/2 teaspoon ground black pepper
  12. 30-40 dumpling wrappers
  13. Water for steaming
  14. Soy sauce and chili sauce for serving

Instructions:

1. In a large mixing bowl, combine the finely chopped mushrooms, cabbage, spring onions, carrots, minced garlic, grated ginger, soy sauce, sesame oil, vegetable oil, salt, and black pepper. Mix well until all the ingredients are evenly combined.

2.Take a dumpling wrapper and place about 1 teaspoon of the mushroom filling in the center. Fold the wrapper in half, creating a half-moon shape, and press the edges together to seal. You can create pleats along the edge for a decorative touch, but it's optional.

3.Repeat the process with the remaining dumpling wrappers and filling until all the mixture is used.

4.Prepare a steamer by filling a large pot or steamer basket with water and bringing it to a boil. Line the steamer basket with cabbage leaves or parchment paper to prevent the momos from sticking.

5.Arrange the mushroom momos in the steamer basket, leaving some space between them to prevent sticking. Place the steamer basket over the pot of boiling water and cover it with a lid. Steam the momos for about 12-15 minutes or until the mushrooms are cooked through and the wrappers are translucent.

6.Once the Momos are steamed, carefully remove them from the steamer basket using tongs or a spatula. Transfer them to a serving plate.

7.Serve the mushroom momos hot with soy sauce and chili sauce on the side for dipping. Enjoy these delectable and savory dumplings as a vegetarian appetizer or main course.

Note: Feel free to customize the filling by adding additional ingredients such as finely chopped onions, bell peppers, or cilantro, according to your taste preferences. Experiment and make this recipe your own, and savor the delightful flavors of Mushroom Momos.

MUSHROOM MOMOS CHUTNEY  GARLIC TOMATO DIPPING SAUCE

MUSHROOM MOMOS RECIPE

Ingredients:

4 ripe tomatoes, diced
4 cloves of garlic, minced
1 tablespoon olive oil
1 teaspoon dried basil
1 teaspoon dried oregano
1/2 teaspoon red pepper flakes (optional)
1 teaspoon sugar
Salt to taste
Freshly ground black pepper to taste
Fresh basil leaves for garnish (optional)

Instructions:

1.Heat olive oil in a saucepan over medium heat. Add the minced garlic and sauté until fragrant, about 1-2 minutes.

2.Add the diced tomatoes to the saucepan and stir well. Cook for about 5 minutes, allowing the tomatoes to soften and release their juices.

3.Reduce the heat to low and add dried basil, dried oregano, red pepper flakes (if using), sugar, salt, and black pepper. Stir everything together to combine.

4,Simmer the sauce on low heat for approximately 20-25 minutes, stirring occasionally. This will help the flavors meld and the sauce to thicken slightly.

5.After simmering, remove the sauce from heat and let it cool for a few minutes.

6.Transfer the sauce to a blender or use an immersion blender to blend until smooth. If you prefer a chunkier texture, you can skip this step.

7.Once blended, return the sauce to the saucepan and heat it gently for a couple of minutes before serving.

8.Pour the Garlic Tomato Dipping Sauce into a serving bowl and garnish with fresh basil leaves, if desired.

9.Serve the sauce alongside your favorite appetizers, such as breadsticks, mozzarella sticks, or even as a dipping sauce for chicken or vegetable skewers.

Note: You can adjust the seasoning according to your taste preferences. Feel free to add more garlic, herbs, or spice for a bolder flavor. This versatile sauce can also be used as a pasta sauce or as a flavorful base for pizza. Enjoy the tangy and garlicky goodness of this Garlic Tomato Dipping Sauce!
