250 grams minced chicken1 cup finely chopped cabbage
1/2 cup finely chopped spring onions
1/4 cup finely chopped carrots
2 cloves of garlic, minced
1/2 inch piece of ginger, grated
1 tablespoon soy sauce
1 teaspoon sesame oil
1 teaspoon vegetable oil
Salt to taste
1/2 teaspoon ground black pepper
30-40 dumpling wrappers
Water for steaming
Soy sauce and chili sauce for serving
Instructions:
1. In a large mixing bowl, combine the minced chicken, chopped cabbage, spring onions, carrots, minced garlic, grated ginger, soy sauce, sesame oil, vegetable oil, salt, and black pepper. Mix well until all the ingredients are evenly combined.
2. Take a dumpling wrapper and place about 1 teaspoon of the chicken filling in the center. Fold the wrapper in half, creating a half-moon shape, and press the edges together
to seal. You can create pleats along the edge for a decorative touch, but it's optional.
3. Repeat the process with the remaining dumpling wrappers and filling until all the
mixture is used.
4. Prepare a steamer by filling a large pot or steamer basket with water and bringing it to a boil. Line the steamer basket with cabbage leaves or parchment paper to prevent the
momos from sticking.
5. Arrange the momos in the steamer basket, leaving some space between them to prevent sticking. Place the steamer basket over the pot of boiling water and cover it with a lid.
Steam the momos for about 12-15 minutes or until the chicken is cooked through and the wrappers are translucent.
6. Once the momos are steamed, carefully remove them from the steamer basket using
tongs or a spatula. Transfer them to a serving plate.
7. Serve the chicken momos hot with soy sauce and chili sauce on the side for dipping.
Enjoy these delicious and flavorful dumplings as an appetizer or main course.
